The celebrity-pro dancer pairings for Dancing with the Stars 9 were formally announced yesterday. EW rated the couples' chances for victory, predicting Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson as the likely winners.

Mya talked with TV Guide about the first few days of rehearsals with her DwtS partner, Dmitry Chaplin.

Pure DwtS reports that the new dances being introduced this season are the Charleston, Bolero, Lambada and Two-Step. Seriously, the Lambada? I thought that was so 1990.

The Futon Critic posted trailers for the new seasons of Supernatural and Smallville.

Variety has an article about a company that helps indie artists get their music on TV shows.

HBO's adaptation of George R. R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" is getting a lot of publicity. The Chicago Tribune's The Watcher blog mentioned the latest casting news (here are photos of the new cast members), as well as some other useful sites for news about the pilot, including the blog Winter Is Coming. I thought the Lambada died in the 80s. And they should have learned from SYTYCD that country line dancing can land with a deafening thud on these shows. Besides, why keep messing with a formula that was working just fine?

They seem to be working really hard to make DWTS completely unrecognizable... Pretty soon, the chat may not even be enough for me to keep watching.... At least I got Louis back, though :)

Oxpal, I honestly don't think the Macarena is off their radar at this point, maybe next season?

I'm just wondering, do they like watching the pros squirm with these dances they don't know how to choreograph? It's uncomfortable for me.

Looks like Julianne got a little bit too big for her britches. Country western music? She may as well try rap and hip-hop too. It's all of the same ilk.

Actually, Julianne was cast in the new Footloose remake opposite Chace Crawford. I haven't seen the movie in a long time so I don't know if she's the love interest or just a girl. I don't mind her using DWTS to launch a career. She's pretty, talented, and can pull it off.

Rumor was that Julianne's acting was so bad producers made her take acting lessons before they'd sign a contract. She'll be playing the female lead in Footloose. And, Johnson, I do think it's funny that Julianne's developed a Southern drawl in recent years, even though she grew up in Utah and England and lives in L.A.

Oh thank goodness Kathy, I thought I was the only one who thought she had developed that accent! It sounds strange to me because it doesn't mesh very well with her normal voice...
